Historical information Endeavour Painted Sailing Yacht Model:

Endeavour was a J – class yacht measuring 130 feet in length, was commissioned by Sir T.O.M. Sopwith and built by Camper & Nicholson in Gosport, England to compete for the America’s Cup in 1934. Having prepared for his campaign aboard Shamrock V, Sopwith was determined to ensure that Endeavour was the most advanced yacht design possible. Leveraging his expertise in aircraft design, Sopwith incorporated aviation technology into Endeavour’s rigging and winches, sparing no effort to make it the finest yacht of its time.
Since its launch in 1934 ENDEAVOUR engaged in preparations by racing against Shamrock V (then owned by Sir Richard Fairey) and the newly launched Velsheda (owned by W.L. Stephenson). ENDEAVOUR outpaced the British racing fleet and won the admiration of yachting enthusiasts globally, achieving numerous victories in her debut season. Although Endeavour did not win the Cup, she came closer to doing so than any other challenger.
