SS Queen of Bermuda is a turbo – electric motor ship built in England and owned by Furness, Withy & Co Ltd, was operated by its subsidiary, Furness Bermuda Line on the route between New York and Bermuda before and after World War II. During the war, it was initially used as an armed merchant cruiser and later converted into a troopship.
Furness, Withy commissioned Queen of Bermuda to replace MV Bermuda, which was lost to fire in June 1931 after just three and a half years of service. Queen of Bermuda was launched in March 1931 and entered service in December of the same year making it the sister ship of Monarch of Bermuda.
